How to Remove & Re-Install a Tabbed Stop Motion Clamp Washer

In the previous post, we looked at how to remove and re-install the stop motion clamp washer on a potted motor machine. But many other vintage Singers (like the 66, 99, 206, 306 et cetera) will have a different washer, as seen in the photo above. Here's how you tackle that one:

  1. Thanks so much Nick! I was going to email you with that exact question because my washer on my 99K fell out despite my trying to keep it in when I was unscrewing the wheel so I couldn't mark it. I will now be able to replace it correctly! Cheers.

  2. Wow!! Brilliant video help. Will try it out tomorrow as my wheel has stopped moving the needle after filling the bobbin. Really impressed with the detail. Rose

  5. Thanks Nick. I have a 319(K) so thanks to you was prepared for the different shaped washer.
All cleaned and my machine is now working flawlessly. Incidentally, that first video features a machine that is unbelievably quiet and smooth. Love your work.
